In my opinion, tribes is the best multiplayer game to date.
A couple of hints that i found helpful while playing tribes:
Don't forget to set up turrets especially since version 1.2 counts any kills that your turret made as yours. The best places to set up turrets is on uneven ground just out of sight of a potential enemy trying to cross the hill your turret is placed on. That means about a couple of feet below the peak of the hill. Inside a base, turrets placed behind entrances really help as well.
When using the rifle, always aim for the head since you will do more damage that way. Also remember that two snipers that work together can make a kill much easier.
If you decide to fly any APC, don't take the most direct route unless you plan to stop behind a hill in front of the enemy base. In this case, don't forget to destroy your transport. If too many transports are forgotten in the field, there won't be any new ones to use for the rest of the mission
Try to have at all times a heavy sitting on the flag to protect your team from quick flag grabbing... It's impressive how fast a well trained light can get away with the flag.
It works well even with a 56k connection
If you already bought tribes, don't forget to upgrade to version 1.2
You can update to version 1.2 here
When using the disk launcher, aim at the feet of your opponent or try to visualize where he will be in two seconds and aim at that place. Aiming directly at the opponent will most likely result in a miss. Also, higher altitude has its advantages and usually closing distance and then using your jets to get above your opponent results in a superior shot
